This is a good poem form to use when wanting to concentrate on achieving a good rhythm as the repetition provides a natural beginning to the rhythm. (see "Which Car")

In the same way it is a good way to practice writing descriptive phrases using figurative techniques such as alliteration (Think of the song "My Favourite Things..... Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens etc")

Try brainstorming ideas on a given topic as a group so that there is no shortage of suggestions for your list before you begin writing your poem.
